Activities
Life groups and Growth groups
Spending time together in fellowship is important to us at Gawler Lutheran Church. Within our congregation, many different groups meet regularly for fellowship, to provide support for one another and to learn together about what it means to be in relationship with God.
Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS is short for Mothers of Preschoolers. This is a group that meets fortnightly in school term time on Wednesdays at 9.15am–11.30am. It is a friendship and support group for mothers of newborns to preschoolers. This allows our mums to have two hours of kid-free time-out and a chance to chat, have a coffee and morning tea, and be creative, which otherwise might not be possible. During our gatherings, we encourage discussion on topics that affect our day-to-day lives all to provide ideas, encouragement and inspiration to mums of all ages and circumstances. At most sessions, we undertake a creative activity which often ties in with the theme of the day. On occasion, we will invite a guest speaker to chat about their expertise and experiences.
Junior Youth
Junior Youth is run for young people in Years 4–7. It provides a place for junior youth to explore and share their faith and have fun. It is held during school terms on Thursdays at Immanuel Lutheran School.
Time out with God: Three Rivers Retreats
‘Time out with God’ is a retreat ministry of Gawler Lutheran Church. These monthly mornings are time for prayer and reflection. Retreats are held on the first Saturday of each month at our Immanuel Worship Centre starting at 9.30am and finishing at 11.30am.
Messy Church
Messy Church is an interactive worship time for all age groups. Craft activities and food are enjoyed as part of the sharing fellowship. This is followed by family-friendly worship.
Special events
Throughout the year, a range of special events takes place within our church to connect. These include events such as a congregational cricket match, men’s 4x4 trip, congregational lunches and fundraising activities.
